The International Guild of Miniature Artisans “In the Pursuit and Recognition of Excellence”

Some of the objectives of the International guild of Miniature Artisans are set out below:

  • To Promote Miniatures as an Art Form
  • To Increase Awareness and Appreciation of High-quality Workmanship Through Public Education
  • To Recognize and Honor Qualified Artisans and Encourage Work of Highest Quality

Andi applied for her I.G.M.A artisan award in April this year for the second time since 2006. It is with great honour that we can announce that Andi received her Artisan award on the 23rd April 2009. It is the involvement with I.G.M.A that has encouraged Andi to progress and challenge herself in all aspects of her work. The passion for her work has only grown and it is a true honour to hold an Artisan membership now. Here are the pieces she won her award with.... One of the pieces also went on to raise over $100.00 as support for The Guild.

To add to the good news, Andi also went all-out and applied for a Castine Scholarship for June 2010 to attend the I.G.M.A school in Castine, Maine. Andi was awarded a scholarship in September to attend school and be taught by some of the most talented Artisans and Fellows in the Miniatures Industry. Thank you to those that supported me in my application and for the selection committee for realising I need help... :)

More About The Guild

Andi is proud to have been a member of the International Guild of Miniature Artisans since 2001.

Those awarded Artisan or Fellow are allowed to apply to teach at The Guild School, held once a year for one week in June. The Guild School is one of the best ways to be around like-minded miniaturists and learn from the best in the business. The Guild School, along with auctions and events is one of the most important events in the I.G.M.A calendar, raising money for The Guild and supporting their goals.

At the beginning of 2005 Andi became an I.G.M.A U.K contact. A ‘contact’ is someone that helps organise I.G.M.A’s appearance at U.K shows, distribute information about the Guild and build relationships with other traders and members, they also answer any queries that prospective members may have. Then, at the Guild show in New York in April this year Andi was announced as the new International Liaison for I.G.M.A. She is now working very hard to push the Guild’s success overseas and make the UK and Europe a hub for miniature traders and collectors.

For more information on the Guild please visit www.igma.org or contact Andi by email, phone or snail mail.
